  3. Hi Ken,
Yeah borders are annoying but I guess that's what you get when you rotate the video cam to get the tall shots. Yes, definitely excited, though we're not out of the woods as we still need to get furniture and do the landscaping (that will have to wait for warmer weather).

    Lisa,
Thanks. You and you family can drop by anytime.

  4. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!!! FANTASTIC! SUCH a beautiful job - excellent architecture, all so functional and practical. Can't believe the utility room! So useful.

Nearly makes me wanna plan a trip back to Tokyo JUST to visit the house!

Can you do another one of these videos once you've moved in properly?

  7. Hi Kenny,
Every room has an Air-conditioning Unit that can cool in the summer and heat in the winter. They are all programmable with a timer. We think will save the most on energy mainly due to better insulation and air flow design.

In terms of smart design, every room with wired with 10GB capable ethernet cables for streaming HD video from my storage appliance to my HD TV.

  8. Thanks very much for sharing. My wife and I (both from the US) are just beginning the process (Kunitachi, in our case) submitting loan application and searching for property, but the decision to settle after 13 years in Japan, 2 children (8 and 5), and our pretty much our entire marriage, is a major accomplishment in itself in our case. Your complete blog archive is an exceptional resource for us... thanks again!

  9. Eric, Nice to e-meet you. My name is Andy and I have been living in Kichijoji for 9 years with my wife and 5 year old son. I saw your blog and was amazed with what a beautiful house you have. I have been looking to build a house and have been searching for a piece of land for over 2 years now and have not had much luck. I would be extremely interested to hear your story and get some advice from you about how to make such an amazing place. Would it possible to have a coffee at Starbucks sometime? My email address is an@softsource.jp Looking forward to your contact. Andy
